James Rabbit and the Giggleberries published July 12th 2104 is already making a profit for my publisher Ron Johns at Mabecron Books. Mabecron has a great new book out  this week called  West Country Cakes and Assorted Fancies illustrated by my friend and great young illustrator Rebecca Cobb

Partnership will ‘take Sainsbury’s own-brand children’s book publishing in a new direction.’

Sainsbury’s has signed an exclusive three-year partnership with Centum Books to boost the supermarket’s line of own-brand children’s books.

A newly created imprint within Centum Books, named Centum Publishing, will develop a range of books aimed at children from birth to seven years old.

The first phase of new titles will appear in Sainsbury’s stores in September 2015.

The hand-picked team created by Phil Carroll, head of books at Sainsbury’s and Geoff Reynolds, managing director of Centum Books Ltd, will ‘take Sainsbury’s own-brand children’s book publishing in a new direction’.

The Centum Publishing team will be led by Fiona Macmillan, publishing director, while Eddie Rixon will become the account director for Centum Publishing.

“Our range of children’s books is an exciting and popular element of our overall in- store offering and this alliance means we can now create even more innovative and exciting own-brand content for children,” said Phil Carroll, head of books at Sainsbury’s.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what this incredibly talented team will achieve in the next three years to truly cement Sainsbury’s as a destination for children’s publishing.”

Fiona Macmillan, publishing director, Centum Publishing added: “Centum is proud and excited to have been selected to work with Sainsbury’s on its brilliant programme of children’s own-brand books.
