Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Babette is of course most famous for her wonderful stories and illustrations. Her books have been entertaining and delighting children (and adults!) for over 40 years.

But what a lot of people may not be aware of is that alongside writing and illustrating, Babette spent many years designing and creating art-work for cards: Christmas cards, birthday cards, bespoke cards and Valentine’s cards. Of course in true Babette style they all had a healthy dose of irreverent humour.

We are lucky to have in our archives a considerable collection of these cards and as Valentine’s Day fast approaches we thought we would share a few of them with you. After the year we have all had, we all need a chuckle and a smile!

We always say, if a piece of artwork brightens your day or makes you smile every time you look at it, it is worth its weight in gold!
