My first book I ever wrote and illustrated, Promise Solves The Problem, was published all those years ago in 1976!
A graphic novel for children it was ahead of it’s time thanks to my clever publisher, Rosemary Debenham at Kaye and Ward, later to become Hienneman and then Egmont.
We have just given dear Prommy a new life on Inky Sprat. You can download it from iTunes.
Promise was my first pony when I was 7 years old.
Here we are when I was a young art student I wrote two stories about her.
The other one is Promise and the Monster.
She was so much part of my childhood. Sunny days in Jersey, ChanneI Islands, galloping Prom across the beach, jumping gorse bushes, hunting with the Jersey Drag Hunt, Pony Club Camp with Major Riley and winning local shows.
Some of you will remember her and those halcyon days well.
Here is a picture of the book.
